Access Health Prevention Specialist Jen Kellerman attended First Annual Governor Mills Opioid Response Summit. Titled Turning the Tide: Maine’s Path Forward in Addressing the Opioid Crisis, the day included members of the public, substance use disorder experts, health providers, affected individuals and families, as well as law enforcement officials from across Maine.
Jen presented on “Increasing Opioid Safety Education Between Provider & Patient” during a prevention panel featuring local community health coalitions. She presented our patient safety rack cards and how important they were in sparking conversations between provider and patient around the safety of opioid prescriptions.
The Mills administration plans to hold another summit next July.
