A Message of Community Support

As many of you know, our community suffered the loss of a young person to suicide this month.  This pandemic has taken a toll on everyone, including our youth, and this loss sadly shows just how much. Now, more than ever, we need to check in with our youth, support them, be that caring adult in their lives.

Brunswick School Department, in collaboration with NAMI, will be hosting a community forum to help guide us in doing this. On Wednesday at 6:30 PM there will be a community presentation on “Protecting Our Children After a Suicide”. Information on the presentation can be found here.

In addition to this, we will be hosting two Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings on January 28th and February 15th. Please check our Facebook page for upcoming registration links. And remember, if you or someone you know is struggling with a mental health crisis please call or text to the Maine Crisis Hotline 1-888-568-1112.
